(WASHINGTON, DC – May 2, 2024) In honor of Mental Health Awareness Month, we are proud to announce the “Human & Civil Rights Matter” Public Town Hall Meeting, on behalf of DC Residents’ who are seeking social justice, higher living, economic standards, and access to healthier and inclusive policies and enforcement.
On, Thursday, May 16, 2024, 6PM – 8:30PM, at Friendship Baptist Church, 900 Delaware Ave. SW, Wash., DC 20024, Members of the Press, Elected District Officials and Councilmembers, along with the DC Attorney General, MPD, Legal Professionals, Human Rights Organizational Leaders, Members of Congressional Oversight Committee, and 2024 DC Candidates who are seeking to be elected, will be invited to join residents from communities across DC at this public town hall meeting to force discussions involving:
• DC’s systemic mental health impositions, and repeated housing code violations that lack adequate enforcement and oversight for low-income, underserved, senior, and vulnerable populations.
• Demands for the eradication of social justice violations, regarding lack of proper legislation enforcement, and programming oversights.
• Complaints for Human & Equitable Rights Violations and presentation to the United Nations.
• Worker’s Rights and the failure of “The First Source Law” enforcement.
• Legal representations on behalf of District citizens against DC government’s gross negligence, and fraudulent governance activities.
Our commitment for advocating for improved public services, and the protection of human rights for all individuals is at the forefront of this necessary public town hall meeting. In our pursuit for social justice, we recognize the need for higher living standards that promote equality and dignity for every person.
On behalf of marginalized, under-served, and senior communities across Washington, DC, AHSO is seeking immediate actions to be taken from public officials and key stakeholders.
