We Must All Help to Eradicate Healthcare Inequities!
We Can All Help to Make a Difference.
Regardless of the nature of the condition, what all people with mental health, social economic problems and illnesses have in common is the hope that when they seek help for their condition, they will receive care that enables them to either eliminate it or to manage it successfully so that they can live happy, productive, and satisfying lives—care that enables them to recover with dignity. Unless we act the stigma against low-income & minority persons with mental challenges, exposures, & diagnoses will continue!
Please stand with us and give from your heart! If we each give something towards helping to save a life, we can all begin to rejoice in the wonderment of human kindness and the true preservation of humanity.

Perhaps your or your organization’s intentions for giving are not represented in the current Trauma Center’s fundraiser “pre-determined” donor levels and packaging. We realize the importance of making sure that each of our committed donors know just how important they and their donations are to the CCETWC’s overall success.
This “Large Check” presentation provision is designed to offer you or your organization an opportunity to customize the level and amount of contribution that you intend to give towards ensuring the Trauma Center’s success. Every donation is appreciated, and we would like to assure that donations of $1,000.00 or more be made eligible to be presented “live” when a donor request is made via the above registration form.
The requested “large check” donation presentation can either occur virtually or in person, at our Juneteenth “kick-off” fundraiser event to be held on Saturday, June 19th, 2021, or at our Holiday “celebratory” Reception to be held on Saturday, December 18th, 2021, or at one of the many planned Trauma Center construction “reveal” reception events due to take place in conjunction with the CCETWC’s next, (6) six-months of continued fundraising and community “pop-up” scheduled events. The Capital City Emergency “Level II” Trauma & Wellness Center project was born out of an overwhelming need in the community to help individuals of mental health and those individuals who sustain “state of emergency” natured injuries. The unresolved trauma that is plaguing large numbers of individuals and families who are in desperate need of help and demonstrating signs of unstable behavior in the Nation’s Capital, need to be appropriately, and comprehensibly addressed.
The stigma surrounding mental health keeps many community members from acknowledging their own mental challenges, it also keeps them from seeking help. CCETWC is a community-based project modeled to serve the needs of our unhealthy and unstable families who are seeking to improve their quality of living and healthcare options.
There are a broad variety of mental illnesses and diagnoses that one may encounter in their lifetime. In addition countless people are living without adequate and the necessary care that is needed to sustain a decent quality of living in the District. To help individuals and families develop better we must raise the standards of care that are being provided and increase the presence of culturally enriching therapies, mental health resources, and support group networks on the community level.
The gun violence, sex crimes, abuse, substance use, overdosing, terminal health diagnosis, hunger, homelessness, joblessness, and the presence of additional debilitating social determinants have many citizens caught-up in never ending cycles of despair.
The Healthy DC & Me Leadership Coalition and its Mental Health Advocate partner M.I. Mother’s Keeper are spearheading the filming of CCETWC’s “trauma” documentary to help citizens of D.C. who are dealing with ongoing mental health, & trauma induced anxieties, in search of and in need of peace.
It is essential that persons living with mental health challenges and exposures know that they are not alone. Additionally, it is imperative that we keep them alive for as long as we can and help them to find quality care and treatment. We are seeking to empower citizens across the Nation’s Capital. We intend to help them to find their voices and with gaining the courage to tell their stories in order that they can begin to heal and become accountable for their behavioral choices aa well as gain confidence in seeking the proper help.
● Talking about your mental health helps to empower, are you ready to release? Are pinned up frustrations, anger, or fear getting in your way? ● It is time to heal, aren’t you ready to start the journey? ● Did you know that by telling your story it may help others to find their voice? ● Is addiction your past or present reality? Are you holding on to unresolved “hurt”? ● Are you a survivor of foster care, adoption, any type of abuse, or incest?
Register today to tell your story and be included in CCETW’s “trauma” documentary for the betterment of you and members in the community who are struggling to get by and doing so in silence. We are all in this together and The Healthy DC & Me Leadership Coalition are proactively working on interrupting patterns of unhealthy and unaccountable behaviors that are stemming from many years of neglect, lack of appropriate resources, and colonized approaches that have governed how and what levels of treatment and resources low-income families of color could and should receive. Enough is enough! Speak up today! You deserve to be whole. You deserve to be loved. You deserve to be heard.
To Register: Complete the electronic form above. A Healthy DC & Me Leadership advocate will follow-up to schedule your filming.

SAMHSA’S Eight Dimensions Of Wellness!
What is Wellness?
- Optimal physical and behavioral health;
- Purpose in life; Active involvement in satisfying work and play;
- Joyful relationships; and Happiness.
- Wellness relates to social factors that can either promote or hinder social inclusion.
- For many, the impact of trauma, poverty, unemployment, and other social circumstances contributes to the development of behavioral health conditions.
- Such factors can marginalize individuals from society’s social, economic, educational, recreational, cultural, and health resources.
- We have a role to play in building healthy, inclusive communities.
- Individuals with mental or substance use disorders served by the public mental health system die, on average, years earlier than the general population (Parks, 2006).
- Premature death among this population is largely due to: – Smoking; – Obesity; – Substance use; and – Inadequate access to medical care (NASMHPD, 2008).
- Wellness can improve quality of life and increase years of life for these individuals.
- Individuals with severe mental illnesses experience diabetes, hypertension, and obesity at about 1.5 to 2 times the rate of the general population (Fagiolini, 2005; McEvoy, 2005; Newcomer, 2005).
- Depression has been shown to increase the risk of stroke in women (Pan, 2011).
- Trauma has lasting adverse effects on an individual’s functioning and physical, social, emotional, or spiritual well-being (SAMHSA, n.d.).
